Phulla began as a small dream rooted in two places — Finland and South Africa — and one simple love: baking. The name Phulla comes from "fake pulla", a playful nod to Finnish cardamom bread and to me, the founder. I'm half Finnish and half South African — a proud "fake Finn" learning to honour my heritage in my own way.
Through baking, I found a place where those two worlds could meet. From soft, cardamom-spiced cinnamon rolls to small, cozy bakes, Phulla is inspired by Finnish flavours, slow processes, and the comfort of something made by hand. Every recipe is tested, tweaked, and baked with care — not just to taste good, but to make people feel something. Phulla is driven by love and passion. I believe food is one of the simplest ways to show care, warmth, and connection, and my goal is to share that feeling through everything I bake. This journey is only just beginning. What started at home is slowly growing into something bigger, with the dream of opening an independent Phulla bakery by the time I turn seventeen.
